Patrick Family Reunion History

The Patrick Family Reunion began in 1985 in Belen, Mississippi with the intent of bringing the descendants of Joseph Edward Patrick, Sr. and his wives together as one large family unit.

The founders of the first reunion were the late Edward β€œDoc” Patrick, Sr., Jesse Patrick, Sr., and James Patrick. The reunion has continued every other year in a different city to include more family members from around the country.

During the early years of the reunions, various committees were formed including hospitality, program, food, and transportation. These were all supported financially by family donations and operated smoothly with each host city being responsible for the year’s planning. Many of the early reunions took place in Mississippi, Memphis, Little Rock, and Chicago.

As the family grew, and younger generations emerged, the reunion expanded into a more structured event with a theme, official attire, awards, and activities to celebrate the heritage, history, and achievements of the Patrick family.

In recent years, we have added scholarship awards, family trivia, and heritage education to reinforce the values and legacy passed down by our ancestors. The Patrick Family Reunion continues to be a time for honoring our elders, remembering those who have passed, and strengthening the bonds between generations.

We are proud of the enduring legacy of the Patrick family and look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
